About handmade lampwork beads production
Our beads are realised from glass bars, silver and gold slices in the flame of a gas burner. Hand production of glass lampwork beads is very demanding and expects artistic talent, experience and sense of glass. The artists melt the tip of a glass rod in the flame and wind melted glass on a special wire by constantly turning it.
After that the artists shape the bead, either free-hand using metal tools or by turning the glass bead in a metal mould. Finally are the beads decorated by thin glass strands, silver and gold slices or aventurine.
Each lampwork bead is unique and has its own individual character. Our aim is to use the traditional knowledge and craftsmanship in glass and combine it with fresh design ideas.
